I have one complaint. The book kept me up until much too early this morning. Now I have to slow down and savor the rest. The history so very interesting, but I especially enjoyed the part about you and Carolyn and romance and faith…. it’s a lovely story.

Serendipity is everywhere in your book, which I think has a profound meaning than most people thought, maybe something divine behind it. I shared with my husband how you got that lumbermill guy pledging to raise thousands for your campaign, even though you stumbled into the log export problem that got his attention. Our laughing over this issue certainly got my young daughter’s attention. Ah, so many thoughtful memories.

What I most enjoyed was how balanced, ethical, and principled the author was in his political views and analyses. It is increasingly rare to see a politician of values and character, and Bonker’s heart sure seems to be in the right place. I strongly agree that the level of shame that could end a political career in the past might now even embolden some politicians.

Don Bonker tackles the moral choices that face any congressman – how to balance the egocentrically convenient and profitable decisions versus doing what’s right. Given today’s polarization and partisanship on Capitol Hill, moral leadership is needed now more than

Hey Don, just finished your book. What an awesome job of writing. You could be a writing instructor as well as a dance instructor. I’m not sure you could teach me to do wither. I blame my own my Norwegian heritage.
